Bring Bill's Buddies to Your School

Bill's Buddies, the Folger's educational acting troupe, has been performing Shakespeare with energy and humor for the past 24 years. The Buddies bring Shakespeare to life for all kinds of kids—elementary or high school, Shakespeare fans or theater novices.

Like the acting companies of Shakespeare's time, Bill's Buddies can travel and perform almost anywhere—cafeteria, gymnasium, or classroom. Costume, sets, and props are kept to a minimum. The power of Shakespeare's language and the audience's imagination work together to create the scene.

The Buddies enhance their shows with dynamic, interactive workshops. These post-performance sessions get kids up on their feet and into Shakespeare's language. Everyone gets to speak, to act, to play.

The Buddies perform scenes from the most familiar Shakespeare plays, such as A Midsummer Night's Dream. But they also present exciting excerpts from plays which students may never see performed elsewhere.

A full Bill's Buddies show runs for approximately 1 hour; workshops last approximately 45 minutes each.
