Join us at the Folger on the third Friday of selected months for a series of FREE talks prior to other evening performances and events. These short programs further enhance the Folger's exhibitions, theater, music, and literary offerings.

Bonnie Fairbank and the Little Maids of History and Company present a 17th century dance demonstration, followed by interactive audience dance instruction. This free event will be held in the Folger Exhibition Hall preceding the Folger Consort’s 8pm performance of Ballets and Brawls.

Playwright and Guggenheim Fellow Anne Washburn discusses translating, adapting, and writing plays today, including her transadaptation of Orestes, A Tragic Romp, which is currently on the Folger Theatre stage. She is joined by resident dramaturg Michele Osherow prior to the 8pm performance of Orestes. In the Founders' Room.

Steven Galbraith, Folger's Curator of Books, will discuss highlights from the music holdings of the Folger collection prior to the Folger Consort's 8pm performance of In Dulci Jubilo: A German Christmas.

Simon Reade, a former literary agent for the Royal Shakespeare Company and former artistic director of the Bristol Old Vic, reads from his new book, Dear Mr. Shakespeare, which is written as a series of fictional and frequently humorous letters, notes, and e-mails from agents, film and theatre producers, and directors in reply to Shakespeare's imagined submission of the most famous plays in the English language.
