Special Poetry Events



Folger Poetry partners with community organizations promoting poetry and language throughout the Washington region.  Join us at the Haskell Center for special readings and celebrations.

 
 

Para Eso La Palabra

Monthly peñas—a unique form of community arts gatherings with a long tradition in Latin America— bring together a local collective of Latino writers, artists, and activists for literary readings, music, and the visual arts.

Featuring the Puerto Rican poet Urayoán Noel, the work of Cuban artist Lázaro Batista, Latin jazz, and an open mike!
