OPEN POSITIONS

 


Technical Internship

The Intern will assist the Production Manager/Technical Director in the operation of the theater space. Experience to be gained in: production management, technical direction, electrics, props, sound and general theater maintenance. In addition to working on Folger Theatre productions the Intern will also assist for Folger Consort, OB Hardison Poetry, PEN/Faulkner fiction series as well as events from the Folger Education division. Folger Theatre’s 2011/12 season includes OTHELLO, by William Shakespeare, directed by Robert Richmond; THE GAMING TABLE, from Susanna Centlivre’s THE BASSET TABLE, directed by Eleanor Holdridge; THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, by William Shakespeare, directed by Aaron Posner.

The internship will run from September thru mid June. A weekly stipend of $100 will be paid to defray living expenses, local furnished housing available to qualified applicants. A successful candidate will have an undergraduate theater degree and/or beginning his/her professional career. Experience with stage craft and building preferred. Candidates should also be self-starting, and detail-oriented, and have the ability to improvise, problem solve and work well with others. This position reports to the Production Manager and is an exciting opportunity for a team player to invest in a dynamic company.
