This edition of the work by the mysterious Ronphile was most popular in France. The French translation was provided by the discalced Carmelite Pierre de Saint-André (1640–1671) in 1653 and often reprinted thereafter. This little booklet contains six instructive engravings of the hand and its distinctive features and a number of tables which make it easier to systematically read one’s hand.
