Benefits of the First Folio Society

"The Folger has always been so hospitable, and its resources so valuable to my work, that a contribution was certainly worth making."
—Jay Halio, First Folio Society member

First Folio Society members are invited to celebrations at the Folger Shakespeare Library throughout the year and have opportunities to get an insider’s view of the Library.

Members receive invitations for two to the following special events:

  • Annual Renaissance Circles program and dinner: Join us for an exceptional evening of behind-the-scenes presentations from Folger staff, including artists, scholars, and conservators, followed by an intimate dinner in the Folger Reading Rooms.
  • Exhibition openings: Be among the first to see each exhibition, while enjoying a reception and remarks from our staff and curators.
  • Annual Member Weekend: Take part in two days of workshops, displays, discussions, and tours designed especially for Folger members.
  • Gallery talks: Hear from the world-renowned scholars who curate Folger exhibitions, then visit the exhibition after hours with the curators who will be on hand to answer questions.

In addition, First Folio Society members enjoy these exclusive benefits:

  • Private tour of the Folger (upon request; subject to availability)
  • Parking in the Folger’s Puck Circle for evening events (upon request; subject to availability)
  • Special recognition in the Folger’s Annual Report
