![]() Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677). Chori Ecclesiae Cathedralis S. Pauli, 1658. ART File L847c1 no.8. The choir of St. Paul's Cathedral, an example of Gothic style, looking towards the altar in the east; the rose window of the retro-choir can be seen in the distance. This was one of many depictions of St. Paul's included in Sir William Dugdale's History of St. Paul's (1658), a volume which became indispensible after St. Paul's was consumed by the Great Fire of 1666. |
