Detailed Description

This outstanding performance of Macbeth was recorded before a rapt audience in the Folger's intimate Elizabethan Theatre. Magician Teller (of Penn & Teller) and theatre director Aaron Posner, brought to stage a new production of Macbeth - combining shock, suspense, stage magic, and grisly humor - while remaining true to the brutal beauty of Shakespeare's play.

Our DVD is perfect for those encountering the play for the first time and for those finding brilliant new insights into a classic.
DVD of the 2008 Folger Theatre/Two River Theater Company production -- with over 50 minutes of special features, including interviews with the directors, actors, designers, and scholars.

Rank 5 The best way to teach Macbeth to seniors! Submitted: 03/19/2010
For the first time this year my seniors got it. This stage rendition of Macbeth is absolutely WELL DONE! My students understood the text as it came alive, literally, on stage before their eyes. Thank you so much for making Macbeth a joy to teach and learn!
