Anthony James West is an Honorary Research Fellow, University College London (where he earned his PhD); and a Senior Research Fellow, Institute of English Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London. He has spent twenty-five years studying the history of the Shakespeare First Folio since it left the press in 1623. He was recently an Expert Witness for the Crown Prosecution Service in a trial where the copy of the First Folio stolen from the University of Durham was identified and repatriated.
