The O.B. Hardison Poetry Series partners with national and community organizations promoting poetry and language throughout the Washington region and the country. Join us at the Haskell Center or other locations for special readings and celebrations.

Not Just Another Day Off 2015

(A Poetry Celebration of the Birthday of MLK Jr.)

The O.B. Hardison Poetry Series and Split This Rock co-sponsor this year's poetry reading in honor of the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. On Monday, January 19th from 11am to 1pm poets Myra Sklarew, Kenneth Carroll, and Niki Herd respond to the question of " Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" King used this question as the title to his fourth and final book. The poets will read passages of King's speeches with their own work.

The poetry reading will be followed by an open-mic. *In the spirit of the day, food donations will be taken for the food pantry of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation.*

Please join us for this free and family-friendly event!
