Teaching Shakespeare Institute

Elementary Education Conference

Shakespeare Set Free Workshop

Whether you are near or far, Folger Education offers programs for you! Explore the list at left to learn more.

Folger Education offers a variety of professional development opportunities for teachers across town or across the country. In addition to developing Webinars open to national participants, the Folger offers day-long Shakespeare Set Free workshops and two-day Mini-Institutes.

The Teaching Shakespeare Institute and Elementary Education Conference invite educators from across the country to participate in educational development at the Folger. TSI participants enjoy a four-week stay at the Folger approaching Shakespeare from the perspective of a scholar, actor and educator. The Elementary Education Conference invites K-5 educators to apply performance-based teaching to their younger students, and share their classroom experience.

Educators local to Washington, DC may be interested in our several workshops throughout the school year. From preparing for a Festival performance, to sonnet studies, to Shakespeare on the Web, local teachers can experience teaching Shakespeare in a new light at the Folger. Registration for these is available in "DC Workshops" on the left.
