Playing with Fire
May 27 - 29, 2005
The vibrant traditions of Renaissance instrumental music are ever-present in the exuberant and earthy material of the final program of the year, with viols, violins, lutes, recorders, trombones, bagpipe, harps, flutes, whistles, hurdy-gurdy, and percussion taking center stage. The Consort presents lively dance music, sophisticated fantasies, and brilliant improvisational divisions from all over Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries.
