Peterson’s original art for an editorial cartoon was inspired by the extraordinary publicity surrounding the Cobbe Portrait (considered a possible portrait of Shakespeare) last March. His deliberately anachronistic caricature pokes fun at the striking attractiveness of the Cobbe Portrait sitter when compared with accepted authentic likenesses of Shakespeare.
