Recipes from the 2010 Folger Gala



Classic Sidecar


The 2010 Folger Gala menu took its cue from Hamlet, with an Art Deco twist. Treats included a decadent chocolate cake inspired by Elsinore Castle, as well as classic cocktails such as sidecars and gin martinis.



Folger Gala

Ingredients:

1 ½ ounces  Cognac
1 ounce  Cointreau® Orange Liqueur
½ ounce  Fresh Lemon Juice

 

Method:

1. Take a lemon wedge, notch a slice into the middle and use it to moisten the rim of a chilled cocktail glass.
2. Frost the moistened outer rim of the glass with superfine sugar.
3. Shake ingredients together with cracked Ice and strain into cocktail glass.
4. Garnish with lemon twist, and serve.
