Listen to the reading
Poet Edward Hirsch kicked off the newly named O.B. Hardison poetry reading series with a special reading on September 28, 2010.
Folger Poetry Coordinator Teri Cross Davis says of Edward Hirsch:
His work is full of wonder and joy and brings others to knowing, understanding, and loving poetry. Edward Hirsch's collections include most recently The Living Fire and Special Orders. He is also the author of the prose volumes The Demon and the Angel: Searching for the Source of Artistic Inspiration; Responsive Reading; the national bestseller How to Read a Poem and Fall in Love with Poetry; and Poet's Choice, which collects two years' worth of his weekly essay-letters that ran in Washington Post Book World. In 2008, Hirsch was elected a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
Introduced and conversation moderated by poet Judith Harris.
Welcome by Teri Cross Davis and Gail Kern Paster.
