Teaching Shakespeare Institute



Since 1984, the National Endowment for the Humanities has supported the development and continuing work of the Folger Shakespeare Library's Teaching Shakespeare Institute, an intense, month-long study of a few plays from three essential perspectives: scholarship, performance, and the secondary school classroom.

Teaching Shakespeare Institute

Teaching Shakespeare 2014

June 29-July 26, 2014

 

This rigorous, joyful institute will see 25 middle and high school teachers work with scholars, actors, master teachers, each other, and the Folger collection on a deep dive into Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth Night with a focus on technology. Participants will create digital learning objects that will be made available to humanities teachers across the country while experiencing the plays together as researchers, performers, and educators.
