Welcome to the Folger! The Folger Shakespeare Library is a world-class center for scholarship, learning, culture, and the arts. It is home to the world’s largest Shakespeare collection and is a primary repository for rare materials from the early modern period. We are excited that you will be visiting us, whether it’s to take up a sponsored, residential Fellowship, to participate in a Folger Institute program, or to work on your own self-directed research.
In anticipation of your arrival in Washington, DC, we have compiled a guide which we hope will answer most of your questions about Library procedures and protocol, housing, transportation, and other related matters.
