Secret Cupid
by Andy Harris

Winner Grades 3-6
Grade 6 | Sidwell Friends School

My love’s eternal, I’m dying for you.
The wind sweeps you to my awaiting grasp.
You know I love you, you know that it’s true.
Catching you gently makes everyone gasp.
Though you may try, I won’t let you by me.
I’ll stand perched up high and won’t let you by
If thou are not worthy I’ll let thee be.
Seeing you speed quickly, I know that you’ll fly.
Our goals, the opposite yet I love you still.
My grasp is awaiting for you to come
I wait for your comfort from a window sill.
I’ll catch you so swiftly by your little bum.
I  look to the side and catch with a stride.
My zooming lacrosse ball has utterly died!
