What's Done is Done Online: Recorded May 14, 2013

Watch the Recording

Digital Citizenship and Literacy have become priorities for the 21st century educator. How do teachers meaningfully participate in what is already an essential aspect of every teen’s world? How can social networking be used to navigate Shakespeare’s world?

Join us for What's Done is Done Online: Teaching Macbeth with Social Networking.

Secondary teachers Greta Brasgalla and Robert Barker discuss how to design and implement a co-teaching unit which utilizes social networking in order to facilitate collaboration between two different groups of students.

Using Macbeth, we will explore how to use basic (and free) Web 2.0 tools in order to transform the teaching of Shakespeare, making organic student-to-student conversations the centerpiece. In conjunction with Common Core ELA standards, students will use social networks to foster skills in two main areas: Communication and ICT (Information and Technology Literacy).

This webinar features a presentation by and discussion with Greta Brasgalla and Robert Barker, who teach high school in El Paso, TX and Los Angeles, CA, respectively.

Discussion will be facilitated by Robert Young, Director of Folger Education, and Michael LoMonico, Folger's Senior Consultant on National Education, both former high school educators.
