The 2014 Institute faculty is especially strong in performance, including a scholar with published work on early modern English drama and performance (Head Scholar Ellen McKay); another whose prize-winning teaching is based on performance (Stephen Dickey); another who has written books on Shakespeare in performance, teaching her work with technology (Christy Desmet); two theater practitioner-scholars, one a well-known actor and member of a respected theater department (Michael Tolaydo) and the other a theater historian, director, former department chair, and prize-winning playwright (Caleen Sinnette Jennings); and two teachers deeply experienced in students and their teachers, both of whom are Teaching Shakespeare Institute alums and contributors to Shakespeare Set Free (Susan Biondo-Hench and Michael LoMonico). Chris Shamburg and Eric Johnson bring to the group even more depth in technology and the ways in which various technologies enhance the study of the humanities.
