Teaching Shakespeare 2014

As Teaching Shakespeare 2014 participants and therefore Library summer fellows, participants will have access to the Reading Rooms, the collections, and the expertise of many Folger staff members; in short, the Library makes available all that it has to offer to Teaching Shakespeare 2014 participants.

Owing gratitude to our founders Henry and Emily Folger, the Folger Shakespeare Library is home to an incomparable – the largest and finest in the world – collection of materials relating to both the early modern era in Europe and to William Shakespeare and the theater, including present-day drama. The Folger collection counts over 256,000 books; 60,000 manuscripts; and 250,000 playbills; as well as numerous pieces of art – including oil paintings, drawings, watercolors, prints, photographs, costumes, musical instruments, and films.
