Elizabethan Garden Tour

Folger docents offer insights into plantings, Elizabethan customs, and more.

The Curatorial Eye: Discoveries from the Folger Vault

See how the collection is viewed by the staff who work with it every day. Discoveries continue to be made, even with things well-known. Highlights include letters about or from Shakespearean actors, toy theater cut-outs, early manuscripts found in book bindings during conservation work, and a “Manuscript grimoire."

Rare books and maps from the Folger collection, along with items from the Library of Congress and the Walters Arts Museum, capture England's dawning cultural awareness and admiration of things Chinese.
