Pilobolus

Pilobolus has tested the limits of human physicality to explore the beauty and the power of connected bodies since 1971. Artistic Director’s Matt Kent and Renée Jaworski bring the company’s work to the Round House Theatre stage for the first time in this production of The Tempest. Since being selected to lead Pilobolus into its post succession evolution in 2011, Matt and Renée have lead collaborations with WNYC’s Radiolab, Brian Greene’s World Science Festival, Penn & Teller, MTV’s Video Music Awards, Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Javier de Frutos, MIT’s Distributed Robotics Lab, Steven Banks, and many more. Pilobolus has been recognized with prestigious honors including a TED Fellowship, a Primetime Emmy Award, several Cannes Lion Awards, a Grammy nomination, and performed for the late Queen Elizabeth II. Matt Kent’s past work on The Tempest, directed by Aaron Posner and Teller, was nominated for Best Choreography by the L.A. Drama Critics Circle. Pilobolus.org
