For many generations, the court in Kraków on the banks of the Vistula River and its Jagiellonian University were centers of Poland’s rich musical culture. With instruments and voices cascading through the heights of National Cathedral, the Folger Consort will offer the rare opportunity to experience the beauty of early music from Poland. Just as the Vistula winds its way through city and countryside, Folger Consort traces the early music of Poland from Medieval chant, to Renaissance songs and dances, to the shimmering Baroque hymns of Mikolaj Zielenski. With vocal ensemble, winds, and strings.
