After Your Stay

Keep in touch!

Fellows and participants in scholarly programs are required to evaluate their experience after their residencies, but we welcome and encourage all users of the collections to send us informal feedback through For instance, if you want to acknowledge a particularly helpful staff member or suggest items for the Folger to acquire, let us know and we’ll forward your message to the right staff member.

Whether it’s six months or 10 years after your visit, let us know about publications, lectures, online initiatives, or collaborations that are a result of your time at the Folger. Long-term fellows are required to supply the Folger with a copy of any publication resulting from the fellowship; short-term fellows and readers are encouraged to do so as well, to help us extend our acquisitions budget and to ensure that your work is accessible to future Folger scholars.

If you move to a new institution or accept a new position, we’d like to know so that we can update our database and mailing list! Again, just email us at and we will do the rest.

Stay informed

If you haven’t already, please let us know that you would like to receive announcements about current Folger research and scholarly opportunities via our electronic newsletter, the Research Bulletin. Also, consider joining the Folger-Institute-Commons listserv to hear about what DC-area early modern scholars are researching.

Come back soon

In most cases, once you become a Folger reader, you are a reader for life. Reader’s cards are renewable annually, and all the registrar usually needs to renew your card is a confirmation of your registration information.
