Shakespeare & Beyond
Shakespeare & Beyond explores the topics that shape our experience of Shakespeare today: trends in performance, the latest discoveries and scholarship, news stories, pop culture, interesting books, new movies, the rich context of theater and literary history, and more. As the word ‘beyond’ suggests, from time to time Shakespeare & Beyond also covers topics that are not directly linked to Shakespeare.
For four decades, the Folger’s Education Department has been revolutionizing the way Shakespeare is taught in classrooms. Programs and resources have supported teachers in all kinds of schools and students at all ability levels, both locally and nationally, showing how the study of his work deepens knowledge and hones skills across key academic areas. The Teaching Shakespeare blog offers classroom tips, reflections from both teachers and Folger education staff, and updates from the department.
