Gail McMurray Gibson

is a medievalist who taught at Princeton University from 1975 to 1983 and at Davidson College from 1983 to 2014—where she is now the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor Emerita of English and Humanities. She held a long-term NEH fellowship at the Folger Library in 2014-15. Her current book project, Medieval Drama in Afterlife, explores the new cultural uses of pre-Reformation drama manuscripts performed by early modern collectors, readers, recusants, and antiquarians.
