Lady Claire Turner

Lady Claire Turner has a background in public relations in healthcare. She currently lives in Washington DC where she is accompanying her husband, Sir Christian Turner who is the British Ambassador to the United States.

Lady Turner started her communications career working in large teaching hospitals, heading up the Department in King’s College Hospital London. On her and her husband’s first posting to Washington DC in 2003-2006 she worked as Communications Director for a healthcare not-for-profit The Leapfrog Group.

In the years since, Lady Turner and Sir Christian have alternated between roles in London and overseas postings, heading up British missions in Kenya and Pakistan, They often joke that their partnership resembles a “job share,” and are guided by a shared commitment to embracing a “life less ordinary.”

Lady Turner has a BA (Hons) in English Literature and History (1992) from the University of East Anglia and a Postgraduate Diploma in European Business (1993) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations (1997).
