Margo Hendricks is Professor Emerita. Co-editor (with Patricia Parker) of Women, Race and Writing in the Early Modern Period (1994), Margo has published essays on Shakespeare, premodern critical race, early modern women, and whatever strikes her fancy.

Her most recent publications are Race and Romance: Coloring the Past (ACMRS 2022) and Margo Hendricks Casebook (a collection of previously published writings, 2024). She is working on From Cotton Fields to Shakespeare’s Negress: An Academic Memoir. . . of sorts. Using the pen name Elysabeth Grace, Margo is a Black romance and genre fiction author, and a “Gooner” forever (iykyk).
