Missy Springsteen-Haupt

Dr. Missy Springsteen-Haupt is a professor of language, literacy, and culture in the School of Education at Iowa State University and a substitute teacher for the Ames Community School District. Her work with preservice teachers focuses on the intersections of literacy, educational policy, and culturally responsive pedagogies. Her work as a substitute continues to challenge her practical application of methods. Prior to her current roles, she spent 15 years teaching middle school language arts in rural Iowa and is a 2018 alum of Folger’s Teaching Shakespeare Institute.
