Born and raised in Washington, DC, Shanta started at the Folger as a Teaching Shakespeare Institute intern while earning a bachelor’s degree in English and Women’s Studies at Trinity Washington University. Currently, she is a Library Associate for Circulation (Program Support). When she is not in the Reading Room interacting and assisting researchers, Shanta organizes and leads collections visits for groups (mainly high school students and undergraduates), introducing them to special collections and showing them some really cool stuff.
