COVID-19 safety protocols

The safety and health of our community are of utmost importance to us. We are committed to providing safe venues for you and our performers. We have developed COVID-19 protocols together with our season partners.

The following applies to Folger Theatre’s performances of Our Verse in Time to Come touring the DC Public Library and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Shakespeare’s Birthday Lecture at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, Folger Consort’s performances at St. Mark’s Church on Capitol Hill, and Folger Poetry readings at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation and National Press Club.

  • All Folger staff will be masked at all times. During the performance, performers will not be masked.
  • Performances will be held without intermissions.

COVID-19 warning

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and patrons with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By attending a Folger performance you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold the Folger Shakespeare Library liable for any illness or injury.
