At these workshops we’ll creatively explore the “Past, Present & Future D.C.'” in a series of visual arts prompts that ask participants to answer the question: “What do you want to be remembered about your community?”

The outcome of the participants’ artwork will be added to a multi-media installation project that will be on display in three locations around the city this spring and summer.

All materials will be provided, and participants are invited to come and go as they are able. This workshop is open to all ages. Snacks provided!

What is DC & Me?

DC & Me is the first part of the three-part DC Amplified project, which seeks to gather and uplift community stories within Washington, DC. In this phase, stories have been gathered through workshops and individual interviews with members of the Anacostia, Mt. Pleasant, and Penn Quarter communities. These stories will then be shared out through interactive sculptural installations featuring visual artistic interpretations of these neighborhoods, available for public viewing at multiple locations in Washington, DC.

DC & Me is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
