In this Folger Friday lesson, instructors Mel Romero and Nadia Guevara will go over basic bachata steps and footwork, and teach some partnering moves.
Bachata Sáfica is a queer collective promoting Latiné and Caribbean dance, music and culture with a focus on bachata. We create queer-centered spaces where all are welcome to lead, follow, or both as we celebrate the best of Latiné music and culture.
Bachata, a catchy music and dance style that originated in the Dominican Republic, has captivated dancers and culture-lovers around the globe, and we’re thrilled to share this music and dance with the Folger!
All are welcome. No experience or partner necessary, just a desire to learn and an open mind!
