“The Folger has emerged as a wonderfully receptive staging ground for innovative approaches to the classics.”–The Washington Post
The award-winning Folger Theatre, in our nation’s capital, bridges the arts and humanities through transformational performances and programming that speak inclusively to the human experience.
Folger Theatre continues its rich cultural legacy through bold interpretations and adaptations of the plays of William Shakespeare. Folger Theatre also expands the classical canon by cultivating today’s artists and commissioning new work that is in dialogue with the concerns and issues of our time. These plays inform, respond to, and sit alongside the work of Shakespeare.
