In this season of graduation ceremonies and speeches, advice and advisers seem to be everywhere. Shakespeare’s plays, too, are filled with both memorable sayings and characters whose advice propels the plot—although the advice is not always wise and the advisers are not always trustworthy. Try to answer our questions about advice and advisers in Shakespeare in our quiz. Before you act on the advice yourself, though, remember this oft-quoted line from Polonius’s advice-packed speech in Hamlet: “to thine own self be true.”
