Come and party with us as we celebrate the opening of the newly-renovated Folger Shakespeare Library!

  • Take a look around our beautiful historic Reading Room
  • Book a timed-entry pass and be entered to win hourly prizes.
  • Browse our new gift shop.
  • Catch a performance of Folger Theatre’s Metamorphoses, with tickets starting at $20.

Stream our Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Before our building opens to the public at 1pm, stream our ribbon cutting, starting with a performance by Crush Funk Brass Band at 9:30am.

Be among the very first to explore our new public spaces.

Saturday, June 22, 11am – 9pm

Play jumbo lawn games, chow down with local food trucks, and enjoy special performances by Nick tha 1da, Crush Funk Brass Band, Patria y Saloma, The Flamenco Workshop, and Be’la Dona.

Sunday, June 23, 11am – 6pm

Join us for a performance by Energico Jazz from 11:30am – 1:30pm.

Kids and Families

Pick up a magnifying glass and follow clues through our exhibition halls with our Decoder Trail. Decode messages, solve riddles, and create a poem to receive a special badge. Kids ages 3 – 5 can try our Discovery Trail!
