Make a Tableau Vivant (Living Picture) of a Bas-Relief
Our nine bas-reliefs by the sculptor John Gregory are beloved by Folger visitors. If you have from two to six people at home available to pose, try bringing one of these bas-reliefs to life in a "tableau vivant," literally a "living picture."
Once you have picked the bas-relief you'd like to portray in living color, you can select the photo and copy it for reference. Then you can upload the photo with your bas-relief to social media, tagging @FolgerLibrary and using the hashtag #ShareYourShakespeare.

Bonus: Here's a Folger video on using tableaux vivants in the classroom to explore the images in other Shakespeare lines, too.
Take a Shakespearean Selfie
Share a picture of yourself as your favorite (or least favorite) Shakespeare character: Ophelia with a bouquet of herbs, Juliet at her window, Macbeth with a knife, or most classic of all, Hamlet with a skull... it's up to your imagination.
We'll let you determine what suitable items you have on hand for the perfect look. For Elizabethan dress, however, check out our Folger video on Making a Ruff from paper, producing the ultimate fashion touch. You can also print some props, including a crown, a feather, a skull, a Tudor rose, a mask, a poison bottle, and a dagger.
We can't wait to see you strike a pose. Remember to tag @FolgerLibrary and use the hashtag #ShareYourShakespeare when you upload your photos to social media.
