The Folger Shakespeare Library is administered by a Board of Governors under the auspices of Amherst College, founder Henry Clay Folger’s alma mater.

Florence “Flo” Cohen’s taught 8th grade English and social studies in Redmond, Oregon before embarking on a career in public relations and marketing communications. In the not-for-profit sector, she worked for The University of Chicago Press, The University of Chicago Magazine, and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest.
Susan Sachs Goldman

Writer and civic volunteer Susan Goldman is a native Washingtonian who has been a lover of the Folger Shakespeare Library her whole life. She is a historian, whose book, Friends in Deed: The Story of Quaker Social Reform in America, was published in 2012.

Paul M. Smith is a Professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches Constitutional Law and Election Law.
Jeff Bleich

Jeff Bleich is the General Counsel of Anthropic, and a Frontier AI Lab. He is also the Chair of the Jeff Bleich Centre on Democracy and Disruptive Technologies at Flinders University. He previously served as special counsel to President Obama in the White House, and as the 24th U.S. Ambassador to Australia from 2009 to 2013.

Debbie Driesman

Debbie Driesman has lived in the Washington DC area for the past four decades, having grown up in Ontario, Canada. She worked as a computer engineer in NASA’s communication division at Goddard Space Flight.
Chris Foster

Since June 2021, Chris Foster has been CEO of Omnicom Public Relations Group in New York. He was previously DC-based North American President of advertising and public relations agency Burson Cohn & Wolfe, formed by the merger of Cohn & Wolfe and Burson-Marsteller (of which he was global executive vice president).
Ken Hitz

Ken Hitz is president of the Hitz Foundation supporting numerous projects in the arts, science, and the environment. Prior to working at the Hitz Foundation Ken was a senior manager for Price Waterhouse Management Consulting specializing in system architecture and implementation. He also worked as the Director of Technology for Pru-One, a Hong Kong based internet bank.
Stephen Kieran

Stephen Kieran is an international leader in the design of new and renovated architecture. He works across all scales and types, from homes to institutional, religious, and civic architecture, and planning. Since founding the firm in 1984, a primary focus has been planning and design at colleges and universities, including new engineering facilities at Brown and Carnegie Mellon, arts and music facilities at Wellesley College, the renovation of six Yale residential colleges and four Harvard Houses, along with new and renovated student residential projects at MIT, Duke, the University of Washington, UCLA, UC San Francisco, and UC Berkeley.
Dorothy Kosinski

Dr. Dorothy Kosinski is Director Emerita of The Phillips Collection where she served from 2008 to 2023. Prior to leading the Phillips, Kosinski distinguished herself internationally as an art historian and curator. From 1995 to 2008 she was curator at the Dallas Museum of Art. From 1985 to 1997, while living in Basel, Switzerland she was the curator of the Douglas Cooper Collection of cubist art. She also served as an independent curator of major exhibitions on Cubism, Fernand Leger, and Frantisek Kupka at the Royal Academy of Arts, London; The Kunstmuseum Basel; The Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg; and The National Gallery in Prague.
Marty Kuehne

Marty Kuehne is Managing Director of Seabury Accenture, specializing in workforce planning and compensation. In 2017, Accenture, an IT consulting and services company, acquired Seabury Group, a firm focused on aviation. Before it was acquired, Marty had more than eight years of experience at the Seabury Group.
Kimberlyn Rachael Leary

Dr. Kimberlyn Leary is the Emma Bloomberg Lecturer in Public Policy and Management at the Harvard Kennedy School and has served as the Executive Vice President at the Urban Institute and as a Senior Advisor at New America. She is a consulting advisor to the Gates Foundation and the Boston Foundation and previously served as an advisor to the National Math and Science Initiative.

Eugene Pinkard, Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Pinkard, Jr. is the president of Instruction Partners, a national nonprofit with a mission to strengthen instructional leadership in schools, school systems, and states to improve outcomes for students, with attention to students of color, students experiencing poverty, multilingual learners, and students with disabilities. Gene’s career has focused on creating better opportunities for students to thrive.
Judy Pomeranz

Judy Pomeranz lives in Chicago, IL and Washington, DC. She is a writer, art critic, and art history lecturer at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington and Newberry Library in Chicago. She is also the author of the novel Love Without Asterisks and the short fiction collection, Love on a Small Island: More Tales of New York.

Stuart Rose is a business leader and Chairman of REX American Resources Corporation. Prior to that he was Chairman and CEO of Rex Radio and Television, Inc., which he founded in 1980, and has also worked as a research analyst and merger and acquisition broker. Mr. Rose has a degree in Business Administration from Emory University.

Ramie Targoff is the Jehuda Reinharz Professor of the Humanities at Brandeis University, where she is also professor of English and co-chair of Italian Studies. Her scholarly area of interest is the English Renaissance, with a strong secondary interest in the Italian Renaissance.
